The herbalism workshop with Kelly of Kaullyflower will focus on the spectrum of sexuality within plants. This time will be filled with learning, connecting with nature, and medicine making with herbs that we see in everyday life. After our mint tea meditative intermission, we'll resume with the Body Talk with Imani Noel of Black Body Productions, focused on honoring the Body & Land by combining a Anapanasati-based body drop meditation, body draw and mindful walking exercise to scavenge for plant inspiration in the Garden, a Black Body somatic reading of Maya Angelou's "On the Pulse of Morning," and a poetry exercise connecting body, memory, and land. This event centers black, queer, and trans healing, but is open to anyone interested in these practices, the chicken coop, and the garden. We ask that those who join acknowledge the harm our communities have experienced and continue to experience. Anyone not respectful of the community and the space will be asked to step away. Because this is a community space, the gate will remain open during the event.”
Music will be played in abundance. And we will literally and preverbally spill da tea.
